Mayfly.
"Mayfly" is a flight booking app designed to simplify the travel planning experience and increase ease of use for all types of travellers. My role in the development encompassed all UX/UI design elements, from initial ideation to final design. The project focuses on creating an intuitive, user-centred experience that minimizes common booking challenges and ensures a seamless journey from search to checkout.
GOAL
To revolutionize flight booking by eliminating friction points, making travel planning intuitive, transparent, and accessible for all users. Simplify flight booking with intuitive navigation, transparent options, and personalized choices to increase bookings, reduce drop-offs, and boost user satisfaction.
RESEARCH
User research aimed to understand the needs, behaviours, and pain points of the target users. Through surveys, interviews, and usability tests with both frequent travellers and first-time users, it was found that users prioritize clear price breakdowns, flexible date search, and a quick, error-free checkout. Additionally, they need an easy way to compare flights by duration, price, and layover time.
Competitive analysis aimed to benchmark against industry leaders like Skyscanner, Scoot, Google Flights, and Ryanair to identify unique value propositions. We observed that competitors often overwhelm users with information, leading to cognitive overload, highlighting a significant opportunity to differentiate by integrating personalisation based on user behaviour.
